Hair medallion. Some art forms of the 19th century disturb us. Among them are decorative objects made of braided human hair. Queen Victoria owned a whole series of jewelry made from the mop of hair of her deceased Prince Consort Albert. In addition to medallions or brooches used to commemorate the deceased or to testify to friendships, hair also served as raw material for table ornaments or picture frames.
